Dr. Nagourney is a rare phenomenon, a truly open-minded oncologist, who does not have the usual prejudices against unconventional approaches. He describes himself as a "developmental oncologist," an expert on short-term in vitro testing of cancer cells. His center offers a different way of evaluating a patient's suitability for a wide array of chemotherapuetic agents. This is a highly intelligent approach to some of the thorny problems that have plagued the use of chemotherapy so far. |
